My name is John. This website, the core of it, is about fish and fishing; it’s about our experience with the sea–seafood to salt marshes–the whole tangled mix of it. It’s not so much about the management of fishery resources, that subject has been handled much better by others.
My simple goal is to make the Dented Bucket entertaining to read.
About me: I’m a writer and a deckhand on an inshore fishing boat. I’m 41 years old and started fishing in 1989. I majored in Fisheries Science at the University of Rhode Island. I’ve worked on research boats, oyster farms and many kinds of commercial fishing boats, from trawlers to longliners.
